Criteria

The Runyon Field Board of Directors in 2013 created the Runyon Sports Complex (RFSC) Wall of Fame ("wall of Fame"). Its purpose is to recognize persons who have made a significant contribution to the Runyon Sports Complex ("Complex”) that is worthy of inclusion in the Wall of Fame. Contribution may include having made a significant impact on sustaining the Complex, having made significant improvements at the Complex, having improved the marketability of the Complex, having generated revenue for the Complex, having enhanced the reputation of the Complex, or otherwise having benefitted the Complex or its baseball or softball programs.

Election to the Wall of Fame is by vote of the active Board of Directors (“Board”) of the Complex. Voting takes place at the regular meeting or special meeting of the Board in September. Any person, including a Board member, can nominate a candidate for election to the Wall of Fame. A nomination must be submitted by the first Friday in September to be considered for selection in that year.

The form to be completed and the requirements for nomination are available at the RFSC and at the website www.runyonfield.org. The nomination remains active for five years and need not be resubmitted in that time frame. After five years, a nomination will lapse and the nominee must be renominated to be considered for selection.

C. VOTING PROCEDURE

1. At the September regular meeting (or a special meeting in September) of the Board ofDirectors, each Director in attendance may vote for up to six (6) Wall of Fame nominees.

2. Write-in votes are not permitted. Any candidate named on 75% of the ballots cast shall be elected to the Wall of Fame. Separate and apart from the election of any nominee who receives 75% of the votes cast, the Board may elect additional person(s) to the Wall of Fame each year. Election shall require a majority of votes in favor. There shall be no more than six (6) nominees (total) elected to the Wall of Fame each year. If the sum of those who receive 75% of the votes cast plus those who receive a majority of votes in favor in this phase of the process is greater than six (6), those from this phase of the process who receive the highest number of votes shall be selected.

The procedure to be followed is:
     a. The Directors vote on those who have been nominated; anyone who receives 75% of the votes cast is elected.
     b. Any Board Member can nominate for election one of the persons nominated who did not receive 75% of the vote. The Board then votes on that nominee.
     c. Any Board Member may nominate another of those who had been nominated but not elected and the same voting procedure takes place.
     d. This process continues until there are no further nominations.
     e. A determination is made whether the total of the persons who receive a majority of the votes in this second phase of the process brings the total including those who received
75% of the votes to more than six (6). If not, those who received a majority of the votes in the second phase of the process are elected. If the total exceeds six (6) those who
received the fewest number of votes in the second phase are eliminated until the total class is reduced to six (6).

There shall be no more than six (6) nominees elected to the Wall of Fame each year.

3. In addition to individuals elected to the Wall of Fame under the above criteria, the Board may elect one team each year. The team should have won a state, regional or national tournament or have made a significant contribution to the Complex. In addition to any team nominated under the nomination process described above, any team to be considered shall be nominated in accordance with the process described above.

4. Although the keynote speaker at the Wall of Fame banquet from 2014 to 2016 was inducted into the Wall of Fame, there is no automatic induction for the keynote speaker. If that person is elected to the Wall of Fame, the procedure described herein must be followed.

5. The Board reserves the right to modify or amend the selection criteria for the Wall of Fame from time-to-time.

6. Any person elected to the Wall of Fame is required to grant permission to the Board to copy and use any photographs that are provided.
